Bushmere Gets a Facelift
Isfield Anglers have been fishing Bushmere lake for tens of years now, from when it was just a small weedy farm pond with roach, crucians and tench through to recent years when it had become prolific carp water that always gave anglers a few bites throughout the year.
Unfortunately, this winters bad weather and heavy rains found a weak spot in Bushmere’s dam leading to a breach and the lake currently sits empty. Having discussed the situation with the landowner and the Environment Agency an agreement has been reached for the dam to be fixed this summer and a first phase of restocking of taking place in the autumn to turn the lake into mixed fishery. We will not open Bushmere again until the 21/22 season when all things being well it will feel like we have a new water on the books.
